The Litchfield Public Library serves the residents of Litchfield and the surrounding area with a collection of over 47,000 books, CDs, and DVDs for children, teens, and adults. A member of Pioneerland Library System, the library provides easy access to materials in 30 other libraries in west central Minnesota, as well as e-books, e-magazines, and downloadable audiobooks. The Litchfield Library has 17 public access computers, 3 catalog computers, and Wi-Fi. A large meeting room and two study rooms are available for public use. Library staff are available to help customers locate the information and resources that they need.
Children and their caregivers are invited to two weekly story times plus a monthly Saturday story time. The library offers book clubs for readers of a wide range of ages, as well as teen programs, a fiber arts club, and a Lego building night. The library also hosts author visits, art classes, and cultural and historical programs. The Friends of the Litchfield Public Library holds a book sale each month and works to support the library in a variety of ways.
